How To Juice Your Way to a Slimmer Waistline

Juice Your Way to a Slimmer Waistline
'Juice.' I am sure whenever you read that word, the first things that come to your mind are orange, apple, and grape juice. Didn't you know that if you drank more natural juice daily, you would lose a substantial amount of weight? That's right-by substituting a meal or two with just refreshing no-sugar-added juice, you can effectively shave off some unwanted pounds. Follow the tips below to help you on your way to juicing your way to a slimmer, happier, and healthier you.
Drink your vegetable meals
Many people have a tough time increasing the amount of fruit and veggies they consume every day. Increasing the vegetable content of your meal boosts your vitamin intake, increases the amount of digestible fiber in your system, and reduces your calorie intake. Not only will you lose weight; you'll get healthier too. When you have to eat your veggies, you really taste the veggies and your mind is focused on the fact that you are eating veggies. Your resistance grows and eating more veggies daily becomes a hassle. To get around this problem, you can juice a wide range of veggies and add some natural fruit juices with no sugar added. This has the effect of doubling or tripling your veggie intake daily. Not only do the fruit juices mask the taste of the nutritious veggie juice, you are drinking your vegetables so you have less time to chew. Drinking does not trigger your mind's resistance to chewing vegetables.
I know this might seem a little rough especially if you are used to high-fat low-fiber and heavy meat meals. As the days go by and you stick to at least one juice meal every day, your body will adjust and eventually your cravings for high-fat, high salt, high-calorie meals will decrease. You just have to stick to the program and let your own body's routine take over.
Substitute tangy and sweet for oily and salty
Oily and fatty foods pack a lot of calories in a little space. According to some studies, one tablespoon of corn oil is equivalent to several ears of corn. That is some serious calorie density! Whenever you eat fatty meals-even meatless ones-you are consuming lots and lots of calories. Sadly, getting rid of cravings for oily or fatty food is very hard. This is especially difficult when the fried food is also salty. One effective way to wean yourself off fatty and salty food is to use the power of substitution. Our brains 'profile' our food. The brain assembles a 'taste composite' of the meal and reacts accordingly. By tricking our palate with substitutes gradually, we wean ourselves off tastes that we've gotten addicted to. The stakes are high-if you consume lots of fatty and salty foods, you might develop hypertension and obesity. Obesity and hypertension can be a fatal combination. Wean yourself off salty and oily foods by switching to sour and tangy sauces or dressings. Do this gradually. Also, instead of reaching for the salt shaker, reach for a lemon wedge and add some lemon drops to your meal. Eventually, your taste buds will adjust and you'll enjoy healthier food that doesn't blow up your waistline and put your heart in danger.
