Most people want to lose weight for their own benefit, and there is nothing wrong with that. We all want to look good so we can feel better about ourselves, but have you ever considered the impact your weight loss will have on the people around you? Let me tell you how you can begin changing the world for the better starting today. How? Lead by example!
Humans often do things for selfish reasons. This is very normal and is not as bad as it sounds. By having the desire to change ourselves, even if only for selfish reasons, we also give others the inspiration to change. If you go from overweight to slim and fit, you are an example of what is possible for others. People need to see what is possible so that they have something to strive for. When they see you improving yourself, they will naturally want to do what you are doing when they notice how much better you look and feel. If you need some extra motivation to lose weight, look at others who have done what you wish to do. Emulate them, and you will then become what they once were to you: a role model. Positive change inspires others to do the same.
If you decide to lose weight or make positive changes in your life for any reason at all, do it for your children. Children are especially impressionable, and they will copy the things you do, whether good or bad. If they see you making unhealthy eating choices, they will consider it normal since they don't know any better, and they will follow your example. This habit will likely follow them into their adult years and cause them all types of problems ranging from self-esteem issues to sickness or disease. If you truly want the best for your children, be a good example and show them what a healthy life is.
I understand that it can be difficult to lose weight and get healthy, especially if you have become accustomed to an unhealthy lifestyle. Habits are hard to break, but it is simply a question of how bad you want change. If you truly want a better life for you and also those around you, you will do what is required to change. If you need that extra push, just think of how you are changing the world with the decisions you make.Choose to change the world in a positive way, by being a good example for your friends, family, and co-workers. If you only manage to inspire one other person, just know that one person is all it takes to start a chain-reaction. All it takes is one person to change the world.
